The Production Supervisor (PS) works directly with line-level employees, shift supervisors, and business leadership to maintain efficient production throughput and first-quality products.  The Production Supervisor will play a pivotal role in managing and improving production processes, ensuring quality meets industry standards, managing the production through the plant to ensure products are produced according to the production schedule, enforcing safety, and improving efficiencies within the plant. This position requires strong leadership skills, a focus on continuous improvement, and the ability to foster collaboration among team members.  The PS reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Production Management:

  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery target dates.
  • Monitor and manage workflow to ensure timely completion of the production schedule.
  • Identify and resolve production issues, minimizing downtime.
  • Ensure machinery is maintained, cleaned, and serviced daily, weekly, and monthly by utilizing MaintainX.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor production team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Conduct morning huddles with the team to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.
  • Address performance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the OM to train equipment operators on routine maintenance requirements, evaluate machine resources to ensure continued production, and establish spare parts inventory to maximize runtime.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure products meet company, customer, and industry quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain detailed records of production quality and performance metrics.

Safety:

  • Enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements to ensure an accident-free workplace.
  • Conduct safety training and regular audits to maintain a safe working environment.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Foster team involvement to identify process and efficiency improvements.
  • Implement and monitor process improvements to ensure the process is followed.

  • Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite of products.
